Thanks for your interest in our hand-painted glass and hand-made cedar creations. Each piece is lovingly made one at a time and is original and unique. We find inspiration in nature and hope that one of our pieces “speaks” to your spirit and adds to your enjoyment of our beautiful world. Our business, Katrina’s Place, is located in Concrete, Wa., a small town nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. After 22 years of owning and operating an art gallery/custom framing shop, we wanted the opportunity to make our “own” art. That dream has become a reality as we work in our painting and woodworking studios and travel the beautiful Pacific Northwest doing art shows. Now we want to share our dreams and talents with you on the larger market of the web. As an artist, Karen has specialized in glass painting and has developed her own designs and techniques that result in a more natural and realistic style. She paints on anything glass from small bottles to large antique windows and loves to do custom work. Joe’s handmade cedar birdhouses and garden signs reflect his sense of humor and his commitment to making a quality product. Being a talented oak furniture maker for many years, he switched to making birdhouses and signs, allowing him to be more imaginative and creative. He enjoys finding and incorporating odd objects in his creations, making them sculptural art pieces as well as functional birdhouses. His cedar creations are all made for outdoor use.
